Arbonne Team Street Shoot

A few members of Leigh Geissler’s Arbonne International Team came by the studio Wednesday nigh for a seminar on using social network marketing.  Leigh,Jane Bill, Jessica McGourty and Carol Moran are independent consultants for Arbonne (arbonne.com) and serve customers throughout the area with Arbonne products and consulting.

Social media marketing is a natural fit for them and I enjoyed sharing my knowledge and advising them on how to get started.  Naturally, I wanted to photograph them, too and they agreed to let me do headshots for their Facebook pages.

Arbonne products are naturally derived and I wanted to create photos that reflected this.  So before the seminar we headed out onto the streets of Frenchtown for a little photo session.  Great weather, great ladies and some great photos.

Family Photography

There is never a bad time to take family photos but  some days are almost “too” perfect for a photo session.  Like this past Saturday morning.

Mornings in Frenchtown are relaxed and mellow and the light is beautiful, both in the studio and along the river.  My family of three and a half, Trisha, Richard, Amelia and Amelia were right on time and dressed perfectly for their session.  My philosophy is to let people be themselves.

Trisha and RIchard were dressed nice and comfortably and Amelia and Amelia wore their matching dresses.  We started in the studio and then made our way to the river just letting the photos unfold making it up as we went along.

Sergentsville Covered Bridge Photo Shoot

Every two years the Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce publishes “Hunterdon Living Magazine” (http://www.hunterdon-chamber.org/HunterdonLiving). It is a wonderful guide to the county and businesses.  This year Chris Phelan, President of the Chamber, floated the idea of using New Jersey’s only remaining covered bridge, the Sergentsville Covered Bridge here in Hunterdon as the cover photo.

As nice as it is, even a “covered” bridge is just a bridge so we thought we should add some life to it and recruited a couple of volunteers.  Aisling Carroll and Katie Metzler grabbed some bikes, donned pretty dresses and help create the photo.

Here is a little video of our shoot.

Comp Cards

Allora and James are aspiring models and have all the charm of being real kids.  They are natural, relaxed and a joy to photograph.

Breaking into the modeling world is not easy and it takes perseverance.  There are way too many wanna-be’s  but I’m sure Allorah and James will  find their niche.  Keep an eye out for them.

More Than a Headshot

Therese Bush-Hilgar is a talented designer with a thriving interior design business, Decor and You, based in Whitehouse Station, New Jersey. tbush-hilgar.decorandyou.com/

Theresa is also enjoying being fit and active and decided it was time to update her business portrait for her website, for LinkedIn.com and all the other applications where a headshot is essential.  Theresa came to the studio this week with the idea of getting a simple headshot by Brokaw Photography.

We started with some traditional head and shoulders images and although they were good and showed her great personality we wanted to get something a little different, something more unique.  So we tried a few different outfits, lighting and angles to create Theresa’s new business portrait.  Below is the best of the lot,  a wonderful “strategic portrait” that says more than a simple headshot and expresses her as a artist and a person with whom you want to do business.
